Laudato Si'

  • St. Bruno's has a very active Green Team. 
  • An energy audit was performed on the school and church. This resulted in a new furnace for the rectory, new lighting in the gym, and energy rebate resources.
  • ​Composting of school lunch waste using a composter donated by the St. Bruno Green Team.
  • ​Various Earth Month activities have taken place at the school and parish.

  • St. Bruno Green Team has used bulletin announcements and school newsletter articles with "Ecology Tips."
  • As part of the Lenten program offerings to parishioners was the 3 R's of Caring for Creation: 3 Sunday family programs and 5 Thursday evening adult programs.
  • Laudato Si' encyclical study 
  • Fair Trade Fair to educate the parishioners on the importance of buying fair trade
  • Wildlife In Need Center presentation done in conjunction with Youth Ministry
  • Green Team website was created to communicate with parish and school
  • Green Team sponsored a "mulch, don't burn" campaign
  • Green Team has used doughnut Sunday's as a way to educate parishioners utilizing environmental displays, nature photography, and presentations. Laudato Si' Project had its displays at this in 2016.
